How It Works

TulipCap™ is a two-component system consisting of a polyethylene overcap, with post-consumer recycled material optional, and a flexible thermoplastic elastomer insert. Together, the components create a secure, repeatable, gas-tight seal without the need for specialized tools or closing equipment.

Step 1 — Closing the TulipCap™

When the overcap is pressed closed, it exerts pressure on the center of the insert.

Step 2 — Insert Expansion

The diameter of the insert expands at the container neck as a result of the pressure applied by the overcap.

Step 3 — Gas-Tight Seal

The soft Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) compound within the insert compresses into the inner diameter of the neck, forming a secure, gas-tight radial seal.
